Shri Sheshnarayan Temple is too old of 17th century. The old ancient people and the available sources of Chandod town believing that this temple built before 230 years. Our sheshnarayan seva samiti has found several evidence which is presenting the history of Shri Sheshnarayan Temple at Chandod. We are glad to present this evidence here for the holy devotees of Shri Sheshnarayan.
As per the district gazetteer of Gujarat, mentioned in Chapter XIX - Places of Interest page no.798
" Another ancient temple of Shesh Narayan has an idol of the god in black marble. It is said that after killing demon Tilmegha, the diety took deep slumber in the waters of the Narmada and reappeared on the Gita-Jayanti dai i.e. Margshirsha Sud 11. It is said that one of the Subas of Gaekwad at Sankheda, Govindrao Gaekwad, built this temple in about 1775 A.D. "
